  • Do you offer direct billing?
I do not offer direct billing. I will provide a receipt after every appointment, which you can submit for reimbursement to your insurance provider. Most insurance providers cover sessions with a Registered Psychologist. However, you will want to verify this with your provider.
  • What can I expect from my first appointment?
Give yourself plenty of time to find the office, park and get situated. The first appointment is mostly an assessment appointment. We'll go over the consent form, your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals for therapy, a bit about your history, and what encouraged you to take this step now. I like to make sure that clients leave with some useful information at the end of every session whether that is something to reflect on or a strategy to try between appointments. I encourage you to dress comfortably, and bring a bottle of water and something to take notes on if you would like to.
  • What is your hourly rate?
My rate is $200 for 60-minutes for individual, couples and online sessions. Currently, the recommended rate for psychologists by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta is $220 for a 50-minute session.
  • How do I get into the building after hours?
The main entrance door will be locked after 6PM Monday-Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday and stat holidays. In order to enter after hours, use the buzzer on the left hand side of the main door. Call #303 on the intercom and I will buzz you in. Please arrive close to your appointment time. If you arrive too early, I may still be in a session and won't be able to buzz you in. You can call 403-408-9355 if you have trouble entering.
  • How many sessions will I need?
It is hard to say. Everyone is different. The number of sessions can depend on severity of concerns, goals for counselling and availability of resources (benefits, savings, time, etc.)
  • Where can I park for in-person sessions?
There is limited free 1-hour parking in the building's outdoor parking lot. Payment is only required if you park for longer than 1-hour. If this lot is full, there is 2-hour paid street parking on Centre St. N directly in front of the building and on 9th ave NE adjacent to the building. There is also free 1-hour street parking on 10th ave NE, about a 1-2 minute walk from the building. Be sure to double-check parking signs to ensure you don't get a ticket or towed.
  • Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
Yes. I have a certain amount of space that I dedicate for sliding scale clients. Please reach out to me if you are interested in this to verify that I have the space to offer this service to you. If this is an option, we can collaborate to find a suitable rate for you.
